b. Florence (Italy), Jan. 20, 1681, 
d. Vienna, July 20, 1732, musician and composer, worked in Vienna from 
approx. 1701 (from 1708 first theorbist of the Court Music Orchestra), 
1713 Court Composer. Combined the new Neapolitan style with the 
Viennese tradition of opera, composed mainly comic operas and 
intermezzi.
