!!!Czerwenka, Oskar

b. Voecklabruck (Upper Austria), July 5, 1924, 
d. Voecklabruck (Upper Austria), June 1, 2000; bass singer, from 1951 
at the Vienna State Opera, in 1961 awarded the title Kammersaenger*; 
several performances at the Salzburg and Bregenz Festivals and in 
opera houses abroad (Hamburg, New York, etc.). His interpretation of 
Baron Ochs auf Lerchenau in the Rosenkavalier by R.  Strauss. He was 
also a well known painter.
