d. Atzgersdorf, Vienna, July 17, 1855. Geologist. Head geologist at 
the Imperial Geology Institute and court mining councillor; played a 
leading role in the geological mapping of Austria from 1835 on.

Geognostic map of Vienna's surroundings with explanatory 
notes, 1847; geological map of the Krems area; numerous contributions 
to the yearbooks of the Geologische Reichsanstalt, numerous maps in 
manuscript form.
