Damisch, Gunter, b. Steyr (Upper Austria), May 20, 1958, 
painter and graphic artist. Studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in 
Vienna, where he became a lecturer in 1992 and a professor in 1998. At 
first worked with graphic techniques and sculpted as well as painting; 
later concentrated mainly on painting, using very strong colours and 
showing the influence of pointillism and art nouveau.
