b. Vienna, July 23, 1885, 
d. Auschwitz concentration camp (Poland), Dec. 1942, legal scholar and 
politician (Social Democrat). 1919-1920 member of the Constituent 
National Assembly, 1920-1934 member of the Nationalrat, 1918-1927 
member of the Vienna City Council, 1932-1934 financial expert for the 
City of Vienna. Rendered outstanding services in worker education, the 
youth movement and housing affairs, heavily involved in the 1931 
Constitutional Law Amendment. Arrested in 1938, interned in Dachau, 
Buchenwald and Auschwitz concentration camps until his death.
