!!!David, Thomas Christian

b. Wels (Upper Austria), Dec. 22, 1925. Composer, performer (flute, 
harpsichord), son of Johann Nepomuk  David; educated in Leipzig, 
1958-1987 taught at the Vienna Musikhochschule*; 1967-1973 in Teheran. 
Founded the Southern German Chamber Orchestra ("Sueddeutsches 
Kammerorchester") and the Southern German Madrigal Choir 
("Sueddeutscher Madrigal-Chor"). 1986-1988 president of the  
"Oesterreichischer Komponistenbund" (Austrian Society of 
Composers).

!Works
several concertos, 5 string quartets, madrigals and motets, 1 
oratorio, 2 operas.
