Davy, Walter, b. Vienna, Dec. 20, 1924, director, actor, 
author. Studied at the Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna, afterwards 
assistant director and director at the Vienna Burgtheater; 1950-1955 
producer at the radio station Rot-Weiss-Rot; 1955-1968 stage director 
in Goettingen, Berlin, Duesseldorf, Vienna etc. Since 1968 television 
and radio play director at ORF (Austrian Broadcasting Corporation). 
D.´s portrayal of the one-legged detective Schremser in the 
television series "Kottan ermittelt", directed by P.  
Patzak, brought him popularity as an actor. Numerous awards.
