Dehio, Georg, b. Tallin, Estonia (then Reval), Nov. 22, 1850 
d. Tuebingen (Germany), March 19, 1932. German art historian 
whose handbook of German art monuments (5 vols., 1905-1912) was taken 
as a model for the description of Austrian art monuments in each of 
the federal provinces. These descriptions are revised frequently 
(Burgenland 1976, 1980; Carinthia 1976, 1981; Graz 1979; Tyrol 1980; 
Styria 1982; Vorarlberg 1983; Salzburg 1986, Northern Lower Austria 
1990; Vienna 2nd to 9th and 20th districts, 1993; Vienna 10th to 
19th and 21st to 23rd districts, 1996).
