d. Vienna, Nov. 8, 1956. Owner of the Hofkonditorei Demel (Patissier 
to the Imperial Court); 1917 became manageress; 1952 one of the first 
Austrian women to be awarded the title of "Kommerzialrat" (awarded to 
distinguished businesspeople and generally only to men).
