Demelius, Gustav, b. Allstedt (Germany), Jan. 31, 1831, 
d. Vienna, Nov. 7, 1891. Legal scholar, father of Ernst  
Demelius. Habilitation in Prague during the education and university 
reforms under Minister Count Leo Thun-Hohenstein, later professor in 
Krakow and Graz; from 1881 professor of Roman law in Vienna.
