Denzel, Wolfgang, b. Graz (Styria), Jan. 11, 1908, d. Berg 
am Starnberger See (Germany), April 15, 1990. Businessman, amateur 
racing driver; from 1949 to 1959 designed and constructed racing cars 
(4 models) in Vienna, producing a total of about 350 cars. 1945-1978 
general importer for BMW in Austria. In the late 1950s, D. was 
involved in the development of the BMW 700, the car that ended the 
crisis at BMW. D. was also a successful ocean sailor (world champion 
in 1978).
