Desing, Anselm, b. Amberg (Germany), March 15, 1699,
d. Ensdorf (Germany), Dec. 17, 1772. Benedictine monk, professor
of poetry and mathematics at the University of Salzburg, 1741-1745 in
Kremsmuenster where building on the observatory ( "mathematics
tower") began in 1749 according to his plans and in 1744 the
"Ritterakademie" (academy for young noblemen) was built under his
supervision; from 1761 Abbot of Ensdorf Monastery.
