Deutsche Gemeinschaft (German Union), founded in 1919, society which - 
despite its official status - operated mainly in secret to reach its 
goal, i.e. Austria's unification with Germany. Among its members were 
leading representatives of politics, the church and the business 
sector; dissolved in 1930.
