Dienten am Hochkoenig municipality in the province of Salzburg, 
district of Zell am See, alt. 1,078 m, pop. 862, area 
49.74 km%%sup 2/%, winter sports resort (146,192 overnight stays) 
south-west of the Hochkoenig mountain (2,941 m) between 
Saalfelden and Bischofshofen. - Wood manufacturing, electroplating 
works. - From the Middle Ages to 1864 iron mining, two-naved Gothic 
parish church (1505) with high altar (1660), some medieval sculptures; 
in front of the church a linden tree planted in 1506; former miners' 
houses.
