!!!Dietmayr, Berthold eigentlich Karl Josef Dietmayr

Dietmayr, Berthold (real name: Karl Josef), b. Scheibbs (Lower 
Austria), March 15, 1670, d. Vienna, Jan. 25, 1739. Benedictine 
monk, from 1700 Abbot of Melk, 1706 Rector of the University of 
Vienna, member of the Prelate's Estate of Lower Austria, advisor to 
Leopold I, Joseph I and Karl VI. In 1702 commissioned 
J.  Prandtauer to build the baroque monastery at Melk. Building was 
later continued by J.  Munggenast (partly against the convent's will) 
and in 1707 the secondary school was extended from a four-year to a 
six-year programme.
