Dimitz, Ludwig (pseudonym: Waldeck), b. Ljubljana, Slovenia (then 
Laibach), Sept. 9, 1842, d. Vienna, April 22, 1912. Writer on the 
subject of hunting, forester. From 1887 head of the Mariabrunn 
Forestry Research Institute. Pioneered environmental protection.
