Lieblingsschüler von [Joseph Haydn|Biographien/Haydn,_Joseph], 1781-96 in der Hofkapelle Stuttgart (zuletzt Kapelldirektor), lebte dann in Wien als bekannter Komponist für Kammermusik, widmete seine Werke Prinzessin Sophie und Prinz Carl von Württemberg sowie Großfürst Paul von Russland.
