Donaufoederation (Danube Federation), planned and attempted the 
political and economic association of the nations of the Danube area 
and of the Balkans. After first attempts in the 19%%sup th/%  century 
(L. Kossuth) Czechoslovakia, Romania and Yugoslavia concluded the 
Little Entente with the help of France (1920/21). It was directed 
against Hungary and existed until 1938. After World War II unrealistic 
plans were set up by political emigrants. In 1990 a working party of 
regions of several countries located on the River Danube was set up.
