!!!Drachengasse, Theater in der

Drachengasse, theatre in Vienna; founded 1981 by E.  Werner in the 
Drachengasse in Vienna´s 1%%sup st/%  district, a centre for 
women´s culture offering workshops, courses (further education), 
etc. and a theatre group performing plays on women´s issues in 
the "Kleiner Raum in der Drachengasse". In 1984 Werner adapted another 
room in the Drachengasse theatre for the  "Theater der Courage" taken 
over by S.  Kadmon. In 1987 Johanna Franz and Eva Langheiter took over 
the management of the theatre, which has been performing its own 
productions and staging guest performances focusing on contemporary 
drama since it was renovated in 1993. The theatre concentrates on 
issues and interests affecting women.
