Ebner, Herwig, b. Niklasdorf (Styria), Aug. 4, 1928, 
historian. 1969 habilitation in general history of the Middle Ages and 
complementary historical subjects; 1972 habilitation in economic and 
social history of the Middle Ages and the modern era; 1974-1994 
university professor in Graz. Expert on the research of castles and 
residences in Austria.
