Ediktalverfahren (Edict Proceedings); in connection with official 
declarations of death, the summoning of the missing person to appear 
before the competent court within a specified period; published on the 
court bulletin board and/or the Wiener Zeitung gazette. Comparable to 
edictal proceedings in connection with found objects, for the purpose 
of determining amounts owed in connection with bankruptcy or 
composition proceedings, or to call upon creditors in probate 
proceedings.
