Eggenberg, 14%%sup th/%  district of Graz (since 1938), named 
after  Eggenberg Palace, today mainly residential area; evolved from 
the merger of the villages Algersdorf and Baierdorf at the foot of 
Gaisberg mountain and Plabutsch mountain in the 19%%sup th/% 
 century; wagon factory, bridge building, brewery.
