!!!Egger, Max Thaddäus Graf von

b. Leoben (Styria), Feb. 10, 1734, 
d. Vienna, May 15, 1805, mining industrialist; father of Count Franz 
J. N. von  Egger; grandfather of Count Ferdinand von  Egger. Took over 
the Treibach foundry (Carinthia), acquired by his great uncle in 1698; 
from 1766, developed the Treibach blast furnace into one of the 
largest and most productive in Europe. Built Austria's first steel 
casting foundry and plate rolling mill in Lippitzbach (lower 
Carinthia) from 1793-1795.
