Ehm, Anna#

b. Aderklaa (Lower Austria), April 25, 1903, d. Vienna, Dec. 26, 1963, educator. Together with women colleagues built the Neuland School in Grinzing, Vienna (1926 pre-school; 1927 primary school; 1931 secondary school with focus on modern languages, maths and science) on the basis of ideas of modern Christianity and the youth movement ( Neuland). In 1947 established another school on the Laaerberg in Vienna. Children were treated as independent and equal (e.g. informal form of address between teachers and students); the goal was to harmonise learning with athletic and musical activities.
