Civic Rights, until December 31, 1974 according to Section 26 of 
the Austrian Criminal Code (STG) of 1852 every conviction for a 
criminal offence resulted in deprivation of civic rights. The Criminal 
Code of 1974 does not include any rules regarding the loss of civic 
rights and the lack of capacity to obtain academic degrees or public
