b. Vienna, Aug. 28, 1892,
d. Vayholm (Sweden), Aug. 28, 1976, poet, narrative writer and
dramatist. 1938-1946 and 1950/51 lived in India, where he studied
Hinduism; from 1952 lived in Sweden; his work focused on ethical and
religious questions; devoted himself to the history of Indian thought
in his later works ("Die indische Gottesliebe", 1955).
