Shopping Centres: After 1950, urban development planning in Austria 
provided for shopping centres in overspill towns. In addition, 
non-integrated shopping malls developed in the vicinity of towns or at 
major traffic junctions. The biggest Austrian shopping centre is the 
"Shopping City Sued" (SCS) in Voesendorf near Vienna, but there are 
smaller shopping centres in almost every town or city suburb. The 
presence of shopping centres has greatly affected the local shops.
