d. Vienna, Dec. 18, 1954, actress, Kammerschauspielerin; 1918-1923 at 
the Neue Wiener Buehne, the Renaissancebuehne and the Kammerspiele in 
Vienna; 1925-1932 at the Thaliatheater in Vienna and the Deutsches 
Schauspielhaus in Hamburg, where she developed into a great character 
actress and tragedienne; from 1932 until her death, E. performed at 
the Burgtheater in Vienna (roles: Elisabeth, Medea, Sappho, Iphigenia, 
Lady Macbeth); numerous film parts.
