d. New York (USA), Feb. 25, 1951, physician and Social Democratic
politician. 1901-1918 member of the Reichsrat, 1918-1919 member of the
Provisional National Assembly, 1920-1934 member of the Constituent
National Assembly and then of the Nationalrat, from 1919 president of
the State Commission for Socialisation, 1919/1920 Unterstaatssekretaer
(Undersecretary of State) for trade, commerce, industry and
construction. Fled Austria in 1938.
