804 m, pop. 2,117 (1981: pop. 1,847), area 
36.34 km%%sup 2/%, bi-seasonal tourist centre (637,795 overnight 
stays) near St. Johann in Tirol, in the Soellregion, at the 
southern foot of Wilder Kaiser mountains. - Cable car to Hartkaser 
mountain (alt. 1,555 m); wood processing (sawmills, joineries), 
schnaps and liqueur production. - First documented mention around 
1155, Baroque parish church (1740-1746) with ceiling painting by 
J. G. Hoettinger, Baroque Visitation of Mary chapel.
