b. Volkersdorf (municipality of Purgstall bei Eggersdorf, Styria), around 1250, 
d. Admont (Styria), May 10 (12 ?), 1331, Benedictine and scholar. 
Studied in Prague and Padua, 1297-1327 abbot of Admont Monastery, 
which he had entered in 1267. Wrote 35 philosophical and historical 
works (on the coronation of Rudolf I in 1273, biographical works 
around 1320). best known for his textbook and methodology book "De 
musica".
