d. Vienna, Nov. 6, 1897, oilcloth manufacturer; father of Eduard  
Engelmann Jr. Promoted ice sports by building the E. skating rink in 
Hernals, 17th district of Vienna in 1871, raised the reputation of the 
Vienna school of figure skating.
