b. Schoenau (South Tyrol), Nov. 15, 1787, 
d. Egern (Germany), Sept. 19, 1854, physician, writer; 1809 became the 
writer for A.  Hofer and lieutenant with the "Passeier Schuetzen" 
(military group in South Tyrol); 1827-1836 professor of anthropology 
and psychology in Bonn; 1837-1841 physician in Innsbruck, then in 
Munich.
