b. Vienna, June 13, 1929, Kammersaenger (tenor). Contralto soloist for 
the Vienna Boys' Choir, from 1950 member of the Vienna State Opera 
Choir, also performed solo roles; known as an oratorio singer, 
especially as the Evangelist in Bach's "St. Matthew Passion". 
1981-1998 professor of lied and oratorio at the Hochschule fuer Musik 
(now University of Music and Performing Arts) in Vienna.
