Inheritance, Contract of, legal contract between the testator and the 
heir by which the latter is appointed inheritor. The contract of 
inheritance can only be concluded by spouses or engaged people on the 
condition that they will marry. As a marriage contract the contract of 
inheritance must be attested by a notary.
