Eybler, Joseph Leopold von, b. Schwechat (Lower Austria), Feb. 8, 1765, 
d. Vienna, July 24, 1846, composer, pupil of J. G.  
Albrechtsberger, friend of J.  Haydn and W. A.  Mozart (E. took 
part in completing the "Requiem"); in 1801 taught music to the 
Emperor's children; 1804 vice-director of the court orchestra, 
1824-1833 director of the court orchestra (succeeded A.  Salieri). was 
ennobled in 1835.
