!!!Fadinger, Stephan
b. Praz (Upper Austria), around 1580,
d. Ebelsberg near Linz (Upper Austria, killed in action), July 5,
1626, captain during the peasant war in Upper Austria in 1626 (
Peasants' Revolts) against the Bavarian policy of exploitation and of
seizure of peasants' property; brother-in-law of Christoph Zeller.
For a short time established a powerful organisation of rebellious
peasants and also fought against the Counter Reformation. After his
death the peasants did not gain any further important victories and
were soon defeated.
