b. Weissenbach (municipality of Texingtal, Lower Austria), Nov. 27, 1845, 
d. near Dimaro-Campiglio (South Tyrol), Aug. 13, 1901, priest and 
author; 1875-1879 rector of the Pilgrims' Hostel in Jerusalem; from 
1885 professor of theology at the episcopal seminary in St. Poelten, 
where he founded the Diocesan Museum in 1888. His achievements with 
regard to the preservation of religious monuments are of special 
importance.
