d. Vienna, Sept. 20, 1708, painter and etcher; brother of Joseph  
Faistenberger, nephew of Benedikt  Faistenberger. Known as the founder 
of baroque landscape painting in Austria. The figures in his 
landscapes were mostly added by other artists.
