b. Kitzbuehel (Tyrol), Oct. 27, 1695, 
d. Kitzbuehel (Tyrol), April 22, 1759, painter; grandson of Andreas  
Faistenberger. Together with Andreas and Anton  Faistenberger an 
important member of the family; pupil of the Munich court painter J. 
A. Gumpp, influenced by C. D. Asam and J. M.  Rottmayr. Under their 
influence, F. remained committed to the High Baroque style and did not 
follow the artistic trends prevalent in Southern Germany in the first 
half of the 18th century. painted mainly frescoes, but was also a 
portraitist.

frescoes, altar-pieces and pictures of saints in churches in 
North Tyrol: Jochberg, St. Johann, Kitzbuehel, Rattenberg and others; 
portraits (self-portrait in the Ferdinandeum, Innsbruck); drawings.
