d. St. Petersburg (Russia), Dec. 15, 1839, Capuchin friar, author and 
historian; follower of Joseph II, professor at Lemberg 
University; as a Freemason he was dismissed by the order and converted 
to Protestantism; 1809 professor in St. Petersburg, 1820 
evangelical bishop of the Volga Germans in Saratov.
