b. Vienna, Feb. 21, 1806, 
d. Weidling near Vienna, April 8, 1870, landscapist. initially 
attended the School of Architecture of P. Nobile of the Vienna 
Academy, but soon turned to landscape painting. was a friend of F.  
Gauermann. preferred painting scenes of the Vienna Prater and 
landscapes of the environs of Vienna, scenes of the Salzkammergut and 
the Austrian Alps.
