Feistritz im Rosental, Carinthia, municipality in the district of 
Klagenfurt, alt. 549 m, pop. 2,605, area 71.72 km%%sup 2/%, small 
industrial area and summer tourist resort (58,547 overnight stays), 
located on the Feistritz stream, at the foot of the middle Karawanken 
mountain chain. - Customs office, main administrative office for the 
mid-Drau River region of the Austrian Drau hydro-electric company, 
run-of-river power plant Feistritz-Ludmannsdorf (built in 1968; 
360,000 MWh), Rosental nature recreation park; approximately 74 % 
of employment (1991) is in industry and trade: Battery and accumulator 
production, construction materials plant. - Filial church (built 
around 1720) with carved-wood decorations and figures, Renaissance 
castle (Goessnitzerhof, first documented mention in the 15%%sup th/%  
century, completely modernised.)
