b. Vienna, Feb. 25, 1884, 
d. Sobibor concentration camp (Poland), after June 14, 1942, 
author. Wrote sociocritical reports and novels about life in the slums 
of Vienna. Her first book "Loewenzahn. Eine Kindheit" was 
published in 1921. Together with O.  Neurath and A.  Adler she 
established the international pacifist association "Clarte" in 
1922. In 1933 founding member of the association of socialist authors. 
her works were prohibited in February 1934.
