d. Vienna, Nov. 8, 2000; physician, specialist in internal medicine,
from 1945 professor at the University of Vienna (1964/65 rector); head
of the Poliklinik hospital, 1946-1975 head of the II. Department of
Internal Medicine at Vienna University Hospital, president of the
Rudolfinerhaus hospital in Vienna, president of the advisory body to
the Minister of Health. One of Austria's most renowned 20%%sup th/%
century physicians, whose patients included the Shah of Persia and the
king of Saudi Arabia.
