Ferschnitz, Lower Austria, market town in the district of Amstetten, 
alt. 276 m, pop. 1,406, area 15.55 km%%sup 2/%, situated in the Ybbs 
valley east of Amstetten. - Small and medium-sized enterprises. Parish 
church, large Renaissance construction (1575) with late Gothic 
sections, Renaissance statues and altar painting by M. J. Schmidt 
(1770); Gothic subsidiary church in Innerochsenbach, hall construction 
dating from the second half of the 15%%sup th/%  century with late 
Gothic and early Baroque interior.
