Finck, Heinrich, b. Bamberg (Germany; ?), 1444 (or 1445), 
d. Vienna, June 9, 1527, composer; from around 1516 worked for M. 
Lang, later archbishop of Salzburg. From 1524 lived in Vienna and 
became cantor of the Schottenstift monastery. Despite his advanced age 
appointed director of the court orchestra by Ferdinand I in 1527. 
The music theorist Hermann F. was his great-nephew.

!Works
4 Masses, 4 motet cycles and 16 further motets, 35 polyphonic 
songs in German ("Schoene ausserlesene Lieder", 1536).
