b. Weng (Upper Austria), June 24, 1877, 
d. Vienna, Nov. 4, 1955, surgeon, professor at the University of 
Vienna, head of the 1st surgical department of the General Hospital of 
Vienna. He introduced new surgical techniques, especially for gastric 
and intestinal surgery. His research focused on gastric secretion in 
gastric ulcers.
