b. Sterzing/Vipiteno (South Tyrol), Dec. 10, 1855, 
d. Innsbruck (Tyrol), Feb. 14, 1941. Conducted historical research and 
research on local history. From 1885-1912 the curator of the 
Ferdinandeum, the Tyrolean Provincial Museum in Innsbruck and 
established its reputation as a scientific institution.
