Flattnitz, Carinthia, scattered settlement in the district of 
St. Veit an der Glan, alt. 1,400 m, situated on the high 
table-land of the Gurktaler Alps at the passage from the Gurktal 
valley to the Mur valley; Flattnitz belongs to the municipality of  
Gloednitz. - Youth centre. Gothic parish church (consecrated in 1173) 
with Romanesque core, rotunda, high altar (17%%sup th/%  century); old 
municipal office (16%%sup th/%  century) on Roemersteig.
